For each indicator, they assign either a letter grade ranging from \u201cC\u201d to \u201cAAA\u201d or, in the case of two Protocols, \u201cPass\u201d or \u201cFail\u201d, that reflects their performance. Facilities must have their self-ratings externally verified every three years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_image et_pb_image_0\"><span class=\"et_pb_image_wrap \"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4863\" title=\"performance_and_rating\" src=\"https:\/\/chamberofmines.com.ph\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/performance_and_rating.png\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 519px, 100vw\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chamberofmines.com.ph\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/performance_and_rating.png 519w, https:\/\/chamberofmines.com.ph\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/performance_and_rating-480x475.png 480w\" alt=\"\" width=\"519\" height=\"514\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_1  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<p>One of the key strengths of TSM is that mining companies are measured where the mining activity takes place \u2014 at the mine site. The results provide local communities with a meaningful view of how a nearby mine is faring.<\/p>\n<p>COMP has established the goal of having all of its member facilities achieve a Level A or better \u2014 or Pass in the case of two Protocols \u2014 in all Indicators under all 8 Protocols COMP has adopted.<\/p>\n<p>In two Protocols \u2014 Prevention of Child &amp; Forced Labor, as well as Crisis Management &amp; Communications \u2014 a mine can only Pass or Fail.<\/p>\n<p>Level A is broadly defined as good practice and Level AAA is defined as excellence and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a \u201cC\u201d or a \u201cFail\u201d rating means the mine did not meet an Indicator requirement under a particular Protocol; all requirements are evidence-based.
