Digging Deeper
In an effort to bridge the knowledge gap and connect industry experts, the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines (COMP) and the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) signed a memorandum of agreement to help address pressing environmental and technical issues confronting the mining industry tryout science and technology, and identify possible research projects in line with the Council’s R&D Roadmap for the Mining and Minerals Sector.
The launch of the #DiggingDeeper Professional Lecture Series aims to provide an avenue for dialogue and meaningful interface between industry stakeholders and invited speakers to yield practical real-world applications in mining operations.
The objectives of the lecture series are:
- To understand mining industry issues and challenges from perspectives of industry stakeholders
- To promote discussion on how reducing barriers to advance mining industry operations through science and technology
- To encourage stakeholders to play an active role in promoting responsible and sustainable mining practices.
This 2019, there will be four lecture series, scheduled every quarter.
