Community of Interest (COI) Advisory Panel

The Community of Interest (COI) Advisory Panel is an independent, multi- interest group comprising individuals from various sectors such as labor, finance, environmental and social NGOs, Indigenous Peoples, and local government unit. Select members of the COMP Board of Directors also sit on the Panel on an ex-officio basis to provide a mining industry perspective to discussions. The main role of the Panel is to advise on the implementation of TSM, to provide a mechanism for two-way dialogue between COMP and COI members, to periodically review results of the program and to participate in audits.

    • Provide a place for robust discussions with COMP on current mining issues beyond the TSM program.
    • Identify to COMP emerging priority issues (environmental, social/cultural and economic).
    • Issue an annual Panel statement which represents the Panel’s perspectives on TSM performance and on broader issues addressed in the Panel’s work.
